New York Corporate Softball League
-Rules of Play-
A. Team Composition:
1. Normal Complement shall consist of 10 players INCLUDING ONE FEMALE.
A. SHORT HANDED TEAM may play with 9 players.
B. Shorthanded team without a female player can only play with 9 Male palyers
C. If short handed team does not have a female in the line up there shall be an automatic
out recorded at the end of the line up, each time this spot appears.
2. STARTING TIMES:
A. Starting times are established by the league.
B. FORFEIT TIMES for a single game shall be 30 mins.
C. FORFEIT TIMES FOR A 2ND GAME OF DOUBLE HEADER SHALL BE 15 MINS.
3. FIELD DIMENSIONS: Pitching 50'(17 Paces), bases 65'(23 paces)
4. PITCHING DIMENSIONS: Slow Pitch measured height from the ground.
A. Ball shall thrown 6 Ft.(Min) to 12 Ft.(Max) measured from the ground
b. All games WILL START WITH A 1-1 COUNT.
A. A team may bat AS MANY players as possible including ONE or more females
B. Once a team has started with a certain amount of players in the batting order,
Established Batting order MUST remain the same throughout the game.
C. ANY player unable to bat in his batting order slot will result in an automatic OUT.
D. Foul Ball on the 3rd Strike is Auto OUT, but ball is dead.
E. The First TEN (10) players in the line up may reenter ONLY ONCE.
F. Courtesy Runner. Any Injury during game. Or a Designated injured player before game.
Courtesy Runner is last recorded out, Designated injured may never run.
G. ALL Subs must be reported to the Ump. Teams must keep track of their subs.
H. Home team has the official Score Book if there is a scoring/Line Up discrepancy.
I. Mercy Rule: SG 15 Runs DH 12 runs after 5 inng, suddne death will be called.
J. If a male batter walks, followed by a female batter, with two outs in an inning, the
female batter will have the option to hit or walk.
A. No teams is allowed to field more than 10 players including a female.
B. If there is NO FEMALE in the line up team MUST ONLY FIELD 9 players.
7. BASE RUNNING
A. There is NO Stealing. Runner cannot leave his/her base until the pitched ball reaches
home plate. There can be NO Pick off attempts.
B. Once the pitched ball hits the ground, or a player, the ball is dead.
C. Overthrow rule: The runner shall be awarded 2 bases from the base LAST
possessed upon release of the throw.
